I wore this fun outfit to school a few days ago. I thought the navy blazer would look great contrasted with my red pants :)

Peplum party

I went to a play with my family yesterday, and it gave me an excuse to get a little dressed up and wear my new (favorite) shirt from H&M with a peplum bottom. I felt a little bit like Jacklyn Kennedy (if only) with this top and these fun heels! (Forgive the grainy image, it was late.)

Burgundy pants

I am really loving this wine/berry/burgundy color right now! Hope your not tired of colored denim yet (because there's still more to come!) :)

   

Leather skirt

skirt (H&M) + sweater (Forever 21) + scarf (Target) + earrings (Nordstrom) + boots (Ross)

The weather has improved! (But still not enough so that I can wear this skirt without leggings like I've been longing to for the past few months since I bought it!) I'm not sure if you can tell, but this skirt is leather... and I LOVE it. I was initially drawn to it because of the fun, swingy shape and then fell even more in love with it when I realized it was faux leather. You don't see a skirt like this everyday! (And that's probably what I most like about it J.)

Rainy day

Its another rainy day, so I decided to drag out my rain boots. I thought that this was a fun way to wear them and still look (somewhat :)) stylish. (I love leg warmers under rain boots!)

Its raining and cold so I threw on my fur vest before running out to do some errands.

Navy Blazer

My mom came across this gorgeous blazer during one of our quick trips to TJ Maxx and I think I'm in love. In the words of stylist Rachel Zoe, this blazer is bah-nan-ahs. I die. It's made out of sweatshirt-esque material (so it feels like I'm wearing pajamas!), yet looks classy and put-together.

I got so many compliments on it today that I just knew I had to show it to you guys asap :)  
                                             
                                                                                                                  
P.S. I promise I didn't cut my hair (even though it really looks like it in this photo). It's just pushed back behind my shoulders. I decided to take a break from my usual wavy/curly hairdo today and straighten it. (Just my luck it would decide to rain!)

Blue Part Two

I just recently got this bag (on sale!) from H&M and I love the fold-over construction.

Light grey motorcycle jacket

This is one of my favorite jackets! I love its smoky, light grey color, and motorcycle cut. I had to pair it with a thick sweater today because it was cold cold cold. (Its mostly cotton, so its perfect for the springtime. But on chilly winter days like today, talk about brrrr!)

Breakfast Sandwich

 

When I have more than two minutes to devote to breakfast on a given morning, I love to make this simple egg sandwich. It's delicious, and healthy too!

 Breakfast Sandwich

Ingredients:

2 large eggs (or 1/2 cup of Lucerne's Best of the Egg)
1/2 cup of spinach
1/4 cup salsa of your choice
1 English muffin
Grated Parmesan cheese (to sprinkle on top)
Salt and pepper to taste

First, prepare your eggs in a small saucepan on low heat, then set aside on another plate. Saute 1/2 cup of spinach in your saucepan until the leaves begin to shrivel to about half their original size. Toast an English muffin, then place the sauteed spinach on the bottom half of the muffin. Add the cooked egg on top and garnish with 1/2 cup of salsa, a sprinkling of Parmesan cheese and salt and pepper to your taste.

Plate and enjoy!

I never thought in a million years I would wear electric blue pants, but here I am (and loving it).

I was talking with a friend today who complimented me on the pants. She was quick to claim that she could NEVER pull off a color this bold, and her comment got me thinking about confidence in fashion.

For me, a love for fashion and blogging, and the subsequent shift in my style, has helped me to find new confidence in myself.

Whether rocking new red patent pumps, a perfect blazer with shoulder pads, or that pair of new brightly colored denim, a bold, fashion-forward outfit that you feel good in forces you take on the level of confidence expected from the wearer of such statements.

Need an iPhone case?

 
 
 


I got an iPhone for Christmas this year (thanks Mom and Dad!) and at the moment it is in desperate need of a case. (As of right now, it must travel unprotected at the mercy of my klutzy, forgetful self.)

I was gushing over a friend's artsy iPhone case today, so she shared that she bought it online from  society6.com  after getting three cases for Christmas and not liking a single one (sounds like someone else we know who gets bugged by her mom for being very... particular about what she likes... *cough cough... me). Once I visited the site (and couldn't stop browsing through the THOUSANDS of options), I knew I had to share!

The above cases are just a few of the pages and pages (and pages) of iPhone cases and skins available at society6.com. They aren't cheap (each is $35), but I think I'll have to splurge just this one time.
